THE men's and women's finals of the University Sport South Africa (Ussa) hockey tournament were decided on the fifth and final day of an excellent, thoroughly enjoyable week.
The Gauteng heavyweight derby between the men from Tukkies and their arch-rivals at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) saw the Tukkies from Pretoria win a tension-charged final 2-1 in the wake of five players having been sent to the sin-bin for various indiscretions.

THE men's final of the University Sport South Africa (Ussa) hockey tournament will be played between University of Johannesburg and Tukkies while the women's showdown sees Maties of Stellenbosch against the Tukkies girls.
This is a huge hockey tournament with 16 teams in the men's and women's A Sections and 21 in the respective B Sections. Including officials and umpires and so on – that is a total of almost 800 people, so passion and support for the top teams is high. And the top teams are responding - they are all playing superb, exciting hockey.
